You will notice all around Midhope Castle there are lots of very old stone walls. Most of these walls were remodelled around 1875-1885 however we are very lucky to have some stone walls here which date from around the 1500's.

You will notice most of the walls are sandstone however as lots of the stone has been re-used from previous buildings on the site there is a fantastic selection of stone types, sizes, and colours.
